For PGA Professionals and Coaches immersed in the world of golf, it is easy to lose perspective and place too heavy an emphasis on the events that occur within the arbitrary lines that constitute a golf course. In the greater scheme of things, the winner of a local junior golf event will not find life-long sustenance in that victory. In the big Picture, golf strokes and trophies may have little or no value. The underlying character that we call integrity will.
Parents, Coaches and Educators all share the recognition that Courage, Pride, Patience, Honesty and Humility are valuable in situations much wider than the sport in which they were learned. Players who learn the true essence of Integrity have learned self-respect, respect for their opponents and the ability to identify with the feelings of others. As a result, they will in turn earn the respect of the people around them.
